Jazz Suomi 100: Jukka Haavisto - Löyly Syndicate: Juniper Path (levyjulkkarit),G Livelab Tampere, tampere22.10. At 19:00

Tickets 25 €

Jukka Haavisto - Löyly Syndicate will release its new album Juniper Path and perform the record in its entirety at G Livelab Tampere on October 22, 2026. Led by bassist and composer Jukka Haavisto, the quartet blends Finno-Ugric melodies, Nordic jazz soundscapes, and the energy of modern electric fusion jazz. Their music reaches both ritualistic intensity and delicately breathing, cinematic textures.

Juniper Path continues Haavisto's distinctive storytelling approach and bass-driven musical expression: rhythmically layered, melodic, and improvisational music in which the concept of löyly serves as a central thematic thread connecting the compositions.

Haavisto's international career and the production of the album have received significant support from the Alfred Kordelin Foundation, marking the beginning of a new international chapter for the ensemble. The band's debut album, Reflections (2022, Eclipse Music), received excellent international reviews and attracted considerable attention within its genre. Bass legend Leland Sklar commented on the album: "This sounds great! Really harkens back to all those great 70's fusion albums."

The concert will feature the complete Juniper Path album performed live. The music moves from groove to ritualistic atmospheres, from intimate moments to expansive melodic landscapes and relentless rhythmic celebration.

Jukka Haavisto – fretless electric bass (compositions)
Anssi Tirkkonen – drums
Ville-Veikko Airaniemi – guitar
Vili Itäpelto – keyboards
