Mika Tourunen - Ensemble plays the eponymous leader's material that draws from the tradition of modern jazz, world music and minimalistic music. Styles and atmospheres range from wistful melodicity to intense swing. The members are talented musicians, capable of spontaneous creation, letting themselves be guided by the music and jumping from up-tempo swing to unhurried, meditative expression. They appear also in other first-rate Finnish pop and jazz groups.

The Hämpton Dixieband brings the spirit of New Orleans to Ylläs Jazz & Blues 2015 festival.

Buss service available at 2:00PM from in front of Jounin Kauppakeskus, return at 5:30 from Lainio. The concert will be started in the snow fort of Lainio and finished indoors. The ticket includes the bus transport, the entry fee to the castle and the concert.

Jump'n Blues Society is a Lahti-based nine-piece, formed in May 2013. The group plays rhythm'n blues for dancers and friends of the genre. Despite being a relatively newly-formed orchestra, all its members are experienced musicians, either current or past members of the Lahti Big Band. The group takes ther cue from several key artists from the 1940s and the 1950s, such as Wynonie Harris, Roy Brown, Amos Milburn, Louis Jordan, Bullmoose Jackson, Jay McShann and Lucky Millinder.  They can be considered a welcome addition to the music life of Lahti area.

Flame Jazz reinvades the Viking Line flagship Viking Grace for the sixth time at the end of the month! The popular cruise will see some of the most topical talents of jazz and pop swing on the waves of the Baltic Sea.

The stars of the first edition of 2015 include the immensely popular rap artist Redrama, Teddy's West Coasters, captained by drummer Teppo Mäkynen, jazz-funk powerball Nassaun Fasaani and the Flame Jazz Artist of the Year, Verneri Pohjola, who will give a solo performance on the return journey.

This time the boat will rock to international rhythms, too, as Italian group Mauro Negri Buds Quartet and Romanian singer Elena Mindru's band Elena & The Rom Ensemble complement the programme. The latter won the Young Nordic Jazz Comets Finnish semi-finals in 2014, representing Finland in the inter-Scandinavian competition.

The Turku native and unarguably one of the most pumped-up double bassists of the country, DJ Åkerblom, is in charge of the DJ decks, entertaining the audience with some suitably muscular grooves. Topped with jam sessions and talk shows with the artists, this boat is quite ready to weigh the anchor.
