A unique concert in Helsinki: rhythms and sounds from the Balkans and the eastern Mediterranean meet with an open-minded attitude of African-American tradition and an avant-garde expression. The first performance of the world-conquering Cypriot Avant Folk trio Monsieur Doumani in Helsinki! The evening will be opened by the award-winning DANTCHEV:DOMAIN with a Finnish-Bulgarian groove.

Monsieur Doumani has been awarded several times with the most prestigious awards in the world music field. They have been enthralling the audience worldwide for about ten years with music that has strong roots in the Eastern Mediterranean, but where open-minded and almost psychedelic Avant Folk beats catch you strongly. The band has released four albums: Grippy Grappa (2013), Sikoses (2015), Angathin (2018) and PISSOURIN (2021). Monsieur Doumani has toured almost the entire globe, and has performed e.g. at the most famous festivals such as ESNS, Womex, Womad, Sziget, Trans Musicales and Sukiyaki Meets the World.

DANTCHEV:DOMAIN combines strong cinematic melodies, tight Bulgarian rhythms and jazz improvisation. DANTCHEV:DOMAIN, which has been active since 2019, highlights the Finnish-Bulgarian groove worldwide. Anna Dantchev, known also as 'Bulgarian Voice from Finland', is a versatile and charismatic singer-songwriter. Dantchev's songs draw the inspiration from life. The human-sized stories sung in English and Bulgarian have received an enthusiastic reception from the audience. Her own strong singing style, a combination of Bulgarian singing techniques with jazz sensitivity and universal storytelling has been praised in international reviews as well.

DANTCHEV:DOMAIN has in a short time gained a reputation as a pioneer of a new path in rhythm music. The skillful band's unique instrumentation and personal style that ignores the strict definitions of musical genres have been noticed across genre and country boundaries. The band has released two albums: Say It (2020) and The Lions We Are (2022).
