Nikita Rafaelov is a Helsinki-based pianist and composer, who released his solo debut “Spirit of Gaia” in 2018 on the Danish label Gotta Let It Out. Spirit of Gaia is a conceptual album, inspired by the circle of life, the infinite cycle of entropy and recreation. As a contrast to the album’s meticulously layered tapestries, on stage Rafaelov is wild and spontaneous improvisator, making every concert experience unique.

MINE is like a cold summer day or dark January morning; cool and cozy at the same time. The band is not too keen on categorizing their music, but their music does tempt to tick the boxes of Nordic jazz, improvisation and folk-inspired melodies. MINE is a free child, parented laissez-faire by some of the most interesting visionaires of their generation in Finnish jazz.

Singer Annimaria Rinne’s album “Jälkeenpäin” (2018) has received respectful airtime in Finnish radios, and no wonder why: the combination of a jazz quintet, classical strings and vocal storytelling in Finnish is simply irresistable. She has two of the country’s leading jazz composers/arrangers Seppo Kantonen and Mikko Hassinen in her writing team, and a great live quintet to perform the songs live. Annimaria has completed her music studies in the United States and she started her recording career in 2006 with the album “Ensimmäinen”, which was released also in South Korea and Japan.
