Jazz Finland Live

jaZZanti-konsertti: Katu Kaiku,Lapinlahden lähde, helsinki18.4. At 18:00

keikka

This group’s sprightly music is born when a bunch of widely different musical genres collide and tear open a space where the trio is free to wander and explore. Saxophonist Adele Sauros’s confident voice spurs the energetic drummer Erik Fräki to new textural heights, to which double bassist Mikael Saastamoinen adds splashes of colour and breezy depth.

Katu Kaiku was founded in summer 2013 as a result of a spontaneous jam session in the Kaisaniemi Park. From standards to originals; from the street to the stages of such respected festivals as Pori Jazz, Jazz-Espa and Tampere Jazz Happening, the trio won the Finnish semi-finals, quialifying for the inter-Scandinavian Young Nordic Jazz Comets competition in 2015. Their CV includes collaborations with the likes of Verneri Pohjola, Teemu Viinikainen and Seppo Kantonen and shows played in Finland and abroad. Their debut TOKYO / KUOPIO was released in 2016.
