Flow Festival: Antti Lötjönen Quartet EastSuvilahti, Parrukatu, helsinki10.8. At 14:10

Antti Lötjönen Quartet East performs at Flow Festival 2014 on Balloon 360 Stage. Showtime 2:10PM.
Antti Lötjönen (b. 1980) is one of the busiest and most sought-after bassist in the Finnish jazz scene. Lötjönen's quartet made their entrée in 2013 when he was finishing his degree. The group's repertoire consists of Lötjönen's original compositions and a handful of jazz classics. Naturally, bass is at the centre of this quartet, and plenty of room is given to Lötjönen's soloistic adventures. Having performed at each and every edition of Flow Festival, it is fairly justified to describe Lötjönen as a Flow veteran.
Antti Lötjönen Quartet East:
Antti Lötjönen, kontrabasso
Joonas Riippa, rummut
Jussi Kannaste, saksofoni
Verneri Pohjola, trumpetti

Flow Festival: H K ZSuvilahti, Parrukatu, helsinki10.8. At 19:15

H K Z or Hauschka, Kosminen and Zeigler is a new projec, formed by German pianist Volker Bertmann (better known by his pseudonym Hauschka), Finnish percussion player Samuli Kosminen and American cellist Jeffrey Zeigler. These gentleman have a number of shared attributes, which makes each of them hard to pigeonhole generically: experimentality, exceptional open-mindedness and a wide range of different musical projects. Thus, it is intriguing to hear what will happen when a pianist known for his prepared piano, a drummer of the Icelandic group múm and a Kronos Quartet cello player join forces.
H K Z play at Flow Festival's Voimala concert hall at 7:15PM.
