The Finnish YNJC representative, vocalist Kadi Vija's quartet goes on tour with the runner-up in the Finnish YNJC 2013 competition, experimental Virta trio. The tour visits six major cities in Finland in January 8 - 22. Both bands are currently working on a new album: Kadi Quartet their debut plate and Virta their second.

Kadi Quartet played in YNJC 2013 showcase in Trondheim on the 12th of September. among five young and talented Nordic bands. For the first time the event took place within Europe Jazz Network's General Assembly. EJN is the network for European jazz professionals, and therefor the bands got an audience of festival promoters, concert organizers, jazz media and other key figures in the industry. Henning Bolte from AllAboutJazz highlighted band leader Vija in Trondheim: "Kadi Vija, a selfconscious singer with a firm throat, led her band through an energetic and powerful set. She dared to pause, drop silences and increased tension and dynamics."

Vija herself modestly describes her role in the quartet as merely instrumental, but anyone who has heard her sing 'Invisible Girl', knows she won't blend in the background. Kadi Quartet release their debut album in 2014.

Virta is a Finnish instrumental trio which combines textures of Scandinavian jazz and post-rock with avantgarde aesthetics. On their sophomore long player – coming out in 2014 – these three young Finns march their own unconventional way of expression.

Virta’s critically acclaimed debut album ’Tales From The Deep Waters’ (Tourist Information, 2012) is widely regarded as one of the most significant experimental recordings coming out from Finnish music scene in recent years and it has drawn comparisons to the names like Miles Davis, Jaga Jazzist and Nils Petter Molvaer. During a short period of existence, Virta has gained reputation as a fierce live ensemble, which has taken them to the stages of Pori Jazz in Finland and Match&Fuse Festival in Norway.
