Jazz Finland Live
For six weeks from August 16th on, every Friday at 6pm, the weekend is being officially declared "on" by an evening call from Paasitorni tower in Hakaniemi.
Both saxophonists, Linda Fredriksson and Sampo Kasurinen, study in Sibelius Academy. The jazzy tunes in the weekend-kick-off are composed by Fredriksson.
Besides near the tower and on the Paasitorni patio, the music will be audible on Radio Helsinki.

The hottest phenomena of the younger generation of Finnish jazz, trio HERD and the vibrant singer Aili Ikonen come together for a project named Jazzbasilli to present a contemporary reading of classic jazz-influenced schlagers written by Finnish composers of decades past. Brilliant singer Vieno Kekkonen will bring her own unique sound to these new arrangements of nostalgic classics. Come witness as young guns shake hands with age-old experience on the boulevard of memories.
