The All That Jazz concert takes the audience on a sparkling journey through decades of jazz, from the ragtime of the 1920s to today’s modern styles. The soloist is pianist and composer Iiro Rantala, renowned for his spirited improvisation and versatile expression. He guides listeners through the great moments of jazz history, from Gershwin’s concerts to the creation of the legendary Kind of Blue album. The evening’s conductor is Teemu Takanen, who has arranged the program for symphony orchestra. The repertoire features jazz classics such as “King Porter Stomp,” “Caravan,” “Confirmation,” “Blue In Green,” and “Spain.” The concert culminates with works from the 2000s, including original compositions by Rantala and Takanen. Audiences can expect a unique evening where the soul of jazz and the grandeur of symphonic music merge into a nostalgic and vivid experience.
