Abysskiss - retrofuturistic pocket orchestra from France

Abysskiss is a delightful “pocket orchestra,” a small ensemble with the sound of an orchestra. It offers listeners a kiss from the depths of the sea, but at times also wanders off to the Milky Way. This unusual four-member group creatively combines baritone guitar, saxophone, vibraphone, vocals, as well as baritone horn and flugabone, the latter being a rarer brass instrument. The imaginative and poetic quartet expresses, here and now, what jazz could be and what might happen in its orbit. France’s leading jazz magazine, Jazz Magazine, selected the album Big Dipper as the newcomer of June 2025.

Kalmari Quartet is a brand new supergroup, where musicians with extensive international careers meet.

Kalmari Quartet's strong expression stems from diverse experiences and musical views. The unique and rich compositions of the band members (Kalle Kalima, Aki Rissanen, Antti Lötjönen and Markku Ounaskari) are skillfully intertwined, creating a deep and multidimensional soundscape. They flow energetically forward, like a mystical squid rising from the depths of the sea, hiding an endless number of secrets.
