Django Collective Helsinki is a group of skilled professional musicians sharing the love for the passion and expression of Gypsy Jazz music. The collective started out in 2011 and have since steadily been performing at jazz festivals, clubs and private occations. They're also known for hosting jam sessions in Helsinki which were a phenomenon of sorts for a decade.

At the monthly recurring club in Tenho the group plays the romantic, traditional and good-humored Gypsy Swing in the styles on Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli from the 30-50's. The group is also merging the tradition with modern, more creative qualities of jazz expression with its own original compositions, bringing into being the possible future for this type of music in a fresh way.

SoulSisters is a group of three talented women – Anna Wiksten, Pi Viana and Heidi Kiviharju – who got together in 2007 deciding to share their love of music and vocal groove in resounding and gorgeous three-part harmony.

Pianist Aki Rissanen is one of the most esteemed Finnish jazz musicians of the moment. Having achieved international recognition with his trio, the pianist will delight the Jyväskylä audience with a solo concert at the Jyväskylä Art Museum and as a guest artist at Jazz Jkl Collective.

In his solo piano work, Rissanen focuses on minimalist, melodic themes that reflect his extensive experience and vision in the realms of classical, jazz, and electronic music, all while keeping the groove in mind. His solo album Divided Horizon, released in 2021, has received praise internationally.

The atmosphere of the concert at the Art Museum will be accompanied by a retrospective exhibition of Finnish printmaking innovator Annu Vertanen. Vertanen is known for her experimental, large-scale woodcuts, often characterized by layered geometric patterns and painterly color surfaces.
