On the Joulu, Joulu, Jul album released last year, Emma Salokoski and the Ilmiliekki Quartet took Christmas songs as their material. The acclaimed result includes beautifully nostalgic Christmas classics as well as entirely new music that explores the spirit of contemporary Christmas, with the band's clear and lively playing adding its unique shades. The result is music that acknowledges the significance of tradition and cinnamon while remaining thoroughly modern!

Emma Salokoski is a skilled and versatile interpreter, composer, and lyricist. In addition to her solo career and ensemble work, she is known as a guest soloist in various groups and for her duo with guitarist Jarmo Saari.

Ilmiliekki Quartet is an award-winning and internationally successful ensemble founded by rising jazz stars of their generation at the turn of the millennium.
