Tuomas Wäinölä, one of the most sought-after figures in the Finnish guitar scene, is releasing his second solo album later this summer and celebrating the release with a few selected gigs in September.

Having released his debut solo album Human Being in 2011, Wäinölä is known as a versatile musician, composer, and producer. His musical history includes roles as a guitarist for acts like Nylon Beat, Paula Koivuniemi, and Anssi Kela, as well as guest appearances on TV shows like Elämäni biisi and The Voice of Finland. In recent years, Wäinölä has been involved in the highly popular annual Raskasta Joulua tour and the solo project of former Nightwish bassist Marko Hietala, both in live performances and recording. Wäinölä has also composed score music, in collaboration with Juri Seppä, for the widely acclaimed Jalmari Helander film Sisu.

Wäinölä's second studio album, The Return of the Hometown Hero, set to be released in late summer, features a wide spectrum of guitar-driven, instrumental music, ranging from heavy baritone guitar riffs to symphony orchestra segments, and from twangy guitar sounds to fusion-jazz-inspired tunes enriched with a string quartet and horn section. The album is loosely autobiographical, incorporating musical pieces inspired by different countries, places, and events.
