Jazz Finland Live
Jean Eriks is an ensemble formed by double bassist Janne Tuovinen in 2017. The group aims to take jazz music to divergent direction. They combine modern soundscape with traditional instruments by mixing up new and old in an interesting way while respecting the tradition of jazz. Especially the tone and role of the double bass and the use of effects with the acoustic instrument takes Tuovinen’s compositions to whole new worlds. The music emphasizes strong riffs and ardent harmonies while expressive improvisation and communication keep the energy levels in peak.
The ensemble releases their debut album on Eclipse Music on 22th of March 2019 and the concert is part of the band's record release tour.
