Panu Savolainen, Solo Vibraphone

Vibraphonist Panu Savolainen (1990) was awarded with the title Pori Jazz Artist of the Year at the age of twenty; his own group HERD won the European Jazz Competition at Dutch festival North Sea Jazz in 2011; and he has already worked with such veterans as Peter Erskine, Bobby Hutcherson, Cedar Walton and Jukkis Uotila. No need to mention that the performance of this vibes wizard at Savitaipale will be a memorable occasion.

Finnish top group Ilmiliekki Quartet, known for their subtle expression, will be joined by the versatile vocalist Emma Salokoski at Savitaipale. Their 2009 collaborative album Vi sålde våra hemman made it almost to the top ten on the Finnish album chart on its release. This will be an unforgottable experience!
