The Young Nordic Jazz Comets showcase started in 2000 and has since been a recurring event on the Nordic jazz scene. The main purpose is to create attention to new jazz talents, giving them the opportunity to meet their future audience and to play at professional venues. 

Finland's fourteenth Young Nordic Jazz Comets -representative is chosen at Music Theatre Kapsäkki tonight. While the jury is out pondering their choice, we get to hear the energetic Mopo trio live. Mopo won the Finnish tryouts of the Young Nordic Jazz Comets competition in 2011 and earned a huge amount of interest and attention in the finals held in Stockholm.

We Jazz DJs spin hard-boiled jazz vinyl at Putte's Bar & Pizza once a month. In May, We Jazz resident Matti Nives welcomes DJ Pierre C to join in on the action with his remarkable selection of Canadian jazz, etc.
