Kadi Vija 3 is a Helsinki based group, whose music is full of joy and freedom to experiment improvisation and communication.

Called as a rare instrument, Kadi Vija's unique approach to singing and improvisation is influenced by instrumental jazz music, flowing thoughts and abstraction. The group's instrumentation and Vija's compositions are reminiscent of traditional wind trio format, where the human voice now interprets the melodies usually played by wind instruments, accompanied by double bass player Mikael Saastamoinen (known as the bassist in Linda Fredriksson Juniper's band) and drummer Ville Luukkonen.

Free concerts are held at Musiikkitalo's terrace on summer afternoons from Thursday to Saturday, from 29 May until 2 August, starting at 5 pm. The concerts feature talented musicians from the Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki, as well as other Finnish artists. Throughout the summer, the stage will host a diverse range of interesting artists from different genres: mainly pop music on Thursdays, jazz on Fridays. Additionally, the programme includes interesting performances from the fields of contemporary folk and classical music. The early summer Thursday afternoons are dedicated to the Radio Helsinki KESÄLIVE.

In case of rain, the concert will be held inside in the Musiikkitalo Restaurant.

Expect swinging rhythms, stylish sound, and a warm summer vibe – that's Crème de la Pop.

Originally formed by four (+1) members who don't speak a word of French, the band made a sacred vow in the spring of 2013: to join forces and save their favorite Hungarian pop songs from the 1990s from fading into oblivion. And what better way to do that, they thought, than to blend these hits with another endangered musical treasure? Enter manouche – the 1930s French swing style made famous by Django Reinhardt. Crème de la Pop brings this style back to life through the songs of Hip Hop Boyz, Sing Sing, Carpe Diem, and many more. Long live the '90s! Vive le Swing!

The music of the Vespera Quartet appeals to listeners interested in jazz, chamber music and newer concert music. The group performs cinematic crossover music, combining the best aspects of classical and jazz music. The quartet, with its unique composition, relies heavily on improvisation in its expression, and its arrangements are airy and playful.

The group, known as the number one name in Finnish acoustic swing/jazz music, has been delighting audiences since 2011. Led by Aki Hauru, the band is known for its incredible talent and warm-hearted performances. The irresistible vibe and positive attitude are wonderfully conveyed by the players. In addition to traditional, upbeat swing music, the band also performs its own compositions, where the old is mixed with new, modern jazz expression in a fresh and inventive way.

As one of Finland's best-known music clubs, Suisto offers a great setting for this concert. The acclaimed intimate atmosphere of Linnajazz's Friday night club traditionally draws a full house of music lovers, so it's worth buying tickets in advance. In addition to the great band, there will also be a Linnajazz DJ.

Tuomo Uusitalo Trio offers piano jazz at its best. The band's awareness of jazz history creates an excellent foundation for modern expression. The playing rolls lightly and swings in the air, easily capturing the listener. Years of playing experience in jazz clubs around the world have brought with them determination and courage. The magnificent trio has honed their playing to an incredible impact through hard gigging.
