As the writer and poet Sakari Topelius (1818-1898) urges us to cherish untouched nature and seek a deeper connection to life within it, so does the folk-jazz trio Hot Heros. The compositions by saxophonist Sami Sippola and bassist Ville Rauhala create a captivating, melodic landscape; often tranquil, but with an intense inner flame at its core. The band's music invites you to breathe and listen to the sounds of the forest. Pianist/composer Iro Haarla's elegance brings brilliance to the ensemble and firmly grounds their playing in the tradition of Nordic improvised music that draws from a deep connection to nature.
