Trumpetist-composer Verneri Pohjola is releasing his eagerly awaited album "Monkey Mind" in November 2023. The album's title reflects the restless nature of the mind. Pohjola explains that the songs on the album are his way of confronting his own monkey mind, with themes of self-doubt and uncertainty.
The album also marks a return to a more relaxed and enjoyable approach to music for Pohjola. He has assembled a remarkable ensemble of top-tier musicians for the project. Kit Downes on piano, Jasper Høiby on double bass, and Olavi Louhivuori on drums, all contributing their unique talents.
"Monkey Mind" will be released on November 3, 2023, through the British label Edition Records.
