Jazz Finland Live

Jukka Perko Avara performs at Olari Church.

The band describes their music: "The beautiful dramatic arc drawn by saxophonist Jukka Perko's versions of Finnish hymns and his series of church recitals run into the hearts of the audiences that have seen his Avara trio live. Faced with the fundamental issues of life, the men play in search of the beauty and truth of music and find themselves in places discoverable only via the art of getting lost."

Doors open an hour before the concert.

The program costs 10 euros.
The proceeds of the concert will go to the Finn Church Aid (FCA). FCA assists all victims of major disasters, regardless of their nationality, religion or ethnic background.

The Espoo Big Band association last organized a camp for youth orchestras more than 40 years ago. The camp, which will be held this spring, will be directed by professional musicians from the Espoo Big Band and the UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra. The camp culminates in a concert at the Sello Hall, where each band will present a program refined at the camp.
