Maunula Jazz Happening, now held for the second time, will Maunula-kanava YouTube channel with a wide range of fresh names and new ensembles. Influences from modern and classic music as well as world music will be used to spice up the evening’s jazz performances.

Timo Lassy is one of the brightest jazz artists from Finland. The saxophonist-composer-bandleader has reached the undivided popularity among both the live audience and record buyers, as well as the jazz reviewers. His music emphasizes top-notch ensemble playing, strong compositions and expressive live energy. Lassy will perform at the Oulu Music Festival with his new jazz trio, which includes the top names of Finnish jazz, bassist Ville Herrala and drummer Jaska Lukkarinen. With this new constellation we can definitely expect elements of surprise when they play fresh jazz music by Lassy, composed specifically for this group.
