How does the beginning of apocalypse sound like, the short moment when only grannies and seagulls are alive? AINON leads the listener on a journey trough time and space, creating strong pictures that one can stop by. It creaks and floats until all of a sudden begins a rhythmical texture that one can cling to. AINON is a Helsinki-based ensemble that was founded in 2017 by the cellist-composer Aino Juutilainen. The music is influenced by jazz, contemporary music and classical music. It is a mixture of composed and improvised music, all written for these specific players. The band recorded their debut album in July 2019 and it will be released on We Jazz Records in September 2020.

Aino Juutilainen – cello, compositions, Satu-Maija Aalto – violin, alto violin, vocals, Suvi Linnovaara – saxophone, clarinet, flute, Joonas Leppänen – drums

Linda Fredriksson & Reporters

keikka

Reporters proudly invites you on a musical journey of twangy guitars, haunting organ sounds, time stretching rhythmic patterns and stories all the way to the point of no return. The trio began their collaboration already in 2012 to study the terra incognito between country-rock, jazz and free improvisation. Their first release, Reporters, came out on the Helsinki-based indie label Kuu Records in 2015. Saxophonist Linda Fredriksson tagged along their entourage at a club night series that the Reporters hosted in 2019 at Oluthuone Haavi in Helsinki. There was magic in the air: The organ trio and baritone sax sounded so good together that the one night stand became a lasting collaboration. The final concert at Jazz-Espa sees the outcome of this musical journey!

Linda Fredriksson – saxophones, Antti Kujanpää – organ, Petri Kautto – vocals & guitar, Tatu Rönkkö – drums
