Jazz Finland Live

A solid double bill of two internationally noted Finnish jazz acts. Ikonostasis, led by pianist Kari Ikonen, just released a beautiful new album. Gourmet is a long-standing and free-thinking scene favourite, who are at the top of their game right now. Their musical ethos: "What if Duke Ellington, Tom Waits, Carlos Gardel and Charlie Haden met at a kebab kiosk somewhere in rural Finland?

It was 20 years ago that Rajaton vocal ensemble began its career. Rajaton got off to a flying start by winning the Contest for Vocal Ensembles in Tampere in 1999. Back again to celebrate their anniversary, Rajaton opens the festival evening with UMO Jazz Orchestra, featuring music by Anna-Mari Kähärä. Tickets from Lippupiste 35 € / 30 €.
