Oiro Pena is a mysterious jazz collective known for its remarkable ability to reinvent itself time and time again. A few years ago, international music media brought Oiro Pena out from the shadows of the Finnish mainstream – and for good reason. Their records sell out quickly, and every performance radiates a rare emotional intensity seldom found in contemporary jazz. Is Oiro Pena a single person or a collective? The question remains unanswered.
The group's music strongly blends the traditions of spiritual jazz with Finnish folk music – and the Finnish language fits naturally into this fusion. Oiro Pena moves effortlessly from songs filled with a yearning for freedom to interpretations of classics like "Motherless Child."
The group's latest album, Beke (Ultraääni / Salatut elämät), was released in September 2025.
The concert will take place at Suistoklubi, known as one of the best live venues in Finland. Linnajazz DJ will also be performing with a vinyl set.
