The members of the expressive New 4 are known from the top Finnish jazz bands, and at the heart of the quartet is an original musical world created by powerful atmospheric compositions and bold improvisation. Compositionally, the band's music aims to break traditional definitions and seek the interface between improvisation and written music from surprising places. The quartet draws its influences from the peaks of modern jazz music, popular and art music, visual art and the everyday soundscape of the city.
