Hietsu is Happening! nro 56,Hietsun paviljonki, helsinki24.2. At 19:00

Poet Johanna Venho opens the spring season of the Hietsu is Happening! event series with a specially commissioned poem. After that, young jazz lions will take the stage under the direction of Kasper Halttunen.
Kasper Halttunen 5tet
Kasper Halttunen 5tet is a band founded in the fall of 2023, performing fresh compositions by drummer and composer Kasper Halttunen in the spirit of modern jazz. Halttunen's compositions focus on beautiful and strong melodies, around which the music is free to flow and develop. The band's sound combines the soft harmony of the vibraphone and alto saxophone with a traditional piano trio, with influences not only from jazz but also from the worlds of gospel and hip-hop.
Mikko Antila: vibraphone
Ilmari Rönkä: saxophones and flute
Juho Valjakka: piano
Antti Ahoniemi: double bass
Kasper Halttunen: drums
Finally, soprano Pia Komsi and bassist Ville Herrala break down the last remnants of artistic boundaries in their Lost In Naxos album release concert, where Monteverdi’s music and Arianna’s story undergo a radical and improvisatory reinterpretation.
Follow Ariadne’s thread and lose yourself in Hietsu among poetry and jazz lions - only to ultimately discover the chords that lift the soul into the divine love of Dionysian music.
The concert is organised by Hietsu is Happening! event series and Helsinki Jazz ry.
