A Fascinating Journey Between Jazz and Ethno.

In his solo project (since 2012), versatile saxophonist Pauli Lyytinen pushes his instrument to its limits. In his hands, the saxophone becomes simultaneously a bass, a harmony instrument, and a solo instrument, often also serving as a rhythmic element. Lyytinen conjures entire musical worlds, sometimes colored with effects, sometimes entirely acoustically. He will release his second solo album, Lehto | Korpi, under the We Jazz label in the fall of 2024. The creation of the new album has been a long process, during which Lyytinen has, among other things, played and recorded in nature alongside swans and nightingales.

Entre les terres – Between Lands, proclaim violinist Jacky Molard and saxophonist Francois Corneloup in their new ensemble. The former is a leading figure in Brittany's folk music scene, long championing the renewal of tradition. The latter is a maverick in the French jazz field, a respected artisan of improvised music. Both compose colorful pieces for the quartet, which includes clarinetist Catherine Delaunay and cello virtuoso Vincent Courtois, well-known from his numerous visits to Finland. Delaunay is recognized not only for her improvisational skills but also as a respected interpreter of contemporary classical music, while Courtois is an active influencer in the creative European scene through various projects.
