Markus Holkko Quartet plays modern jazz music without forgetting the jazz tradition. Markus Holkko, the saxophonist-composer-producer known from the successful early 2000s line-up U-Street All Stars, is in charge of the multi-nuanced compositions. The musicians in the quartet are top musicians known from many different contexts: pianist Samuli Rautiainen, bassist Juuso Rinta and drummer Teemu Mustonen complete the quartet. Markus Holkko's new album Eye Of The Universe will be released in spring 2024 on the Jazzaggression Records label.

The Flame Jazz Summer Live concert series consists of current names in the Finnish jazz scene and talented ensembles. The concerts are free of charge and are held every Wednesday from 8 May to 14 August 2024 in a cosy park atmosphere in Turku's Cathedral Park Terrace.
