Jukka Eskola Soul Trio unites the three frontliners of Finnish jazz, trumpetist Jukka Eskola, organist Mikko Helevä and drummer Teppo Mäkynen. Swinging contemporary jazz group released their anticipated and acclaimed second album Steamy! on prestigious label Timmion Records. This new material presents soul jazz with South American rhythms, making rhythm and groove trademarks of the trio’s sound. The concert at April Jazz Club is their only performance in Finland this spring.

The concert is opened at 7 PM by Ebeli Show, presenting the students of Ebeli, the pop/jazz department of the Espoo Music Institute.

Dinner is available at the show by booking a table in advance from the Tapiola Garden restaurant Grill It!. Booking a table at the club requires both dining and buying a ticket in advance.

UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra tackles the music of its new Artistic Director and Chief Conductor, Ed Partyka, for the first time in a full-length concert. Ed Partyka’s latest albums “Kopfkino” and “In The Tradition” were composed originally for his own group Ed Partyka Jazz Orchestra, but are now performed by UMO and vocalist Nina Mya. USA-born trombonist, composer, arranger, and conductor has collaborated with a number of renowned European big bands and several other projects and leads his own group, the Ed Partyka Jazz Orchestra.
