The recently deceased singer/actor, the Finnish champion of falling, footballer, boxer and pool shark Vesa-Matti Loiri was a jazzman in spirit and blood. About his favourite music and the best bands, Vesku had as strong views as film character Uuno Turhapuro on the amount of cream and sugar in coffee.
The super assembly performing at the Savoy Theatre on May Day will be powered by Vesku’s favourite musicians Lenni-Kalle Taipale and Kalle Torniainen, who will give a memorable concert around the jazz songs that Loiri loved. The concert will feature, among others, Chick Corean Spain and Weather Report’s Birdland. Some of the songs will be interpreted by the gorgeous Arja Saijonmaa.
