Jazz Finland Live

Emmi U. Quintet will perform at Feel Helsinki -happening at Musiikkitalo on 8th of June, at 15:30, with a special line-up. Emmi U. Quintet is a new jazz quintet lead by pianist Emmi Karoliina Uimonen. The compositions of Uimonen, influenced by classical impressionism and long, melancholic melodies of Nordic folk music, embrace jazz aesthetics in a modern way. Drawing inspiration from art films, contemporary fine arts and dreams, Uimonen approaches composing as a visual process and sees the pieces as moving musical paintings that become alive with each musician's unique interpretation and improvisation. Emmi U. Quintet recorded its debut album in May 2019. The album will be published in the Autumn 2019.
