Jazz Finland Live
The leading figures in folk music, world music and folk dance will be awarded on the 10th of January at the Ethnogala, which will take place at Tavastia in Helsinki. The Ethnogala will focus on live folk music and folk dance rather than speeches, and Helsinki's legendary Tavastia Club will be transformed into an ethno club with two performance stages. The Finnish Broadcasting Company Yle will record and broadcast the event on its TV, radio and internet channels.

Wine tasting = so last season! Come to savour blue notes, sticky-sweet groove and bitter classics at UMO’s rehearsal hall in the Cable Factory, Helsinki, on 10 January 2019. This will be Finland’s (maybe even the world’s!) first ever 100% musical tasting session. The evening will be kicked off with mild mouthfuls and followed with stronger flavours. Pick up your ears in between the samples to neutralise the senses and enjoy jazz responsibly. The jazz police will not be admitted in this party, so everyone are free to taste jazz in their preferred way, with or without expertise. The orchestra will be conducted by Ville Vannemaa.
