Following from his debut release "Tether" and subsequent European tour, bassist and composer Hayden Prosser will be back in Finland for a performance at Tenho Restobar with his quartet featuring saxophonist Sölvi Kolbeinsson, pianist Mark Pringle and drummer Max Santner. Combining jazz, electronic and contemporary classical music, the quartet subtly weaves improvisation and composition into patterns of new and explorative colours.
"Compact sound studies that are structurally finely balanced and well shaped and that cleverly wander between sublime groove and a total absence of metric anchoring." – Concerto Magazine
"What nudges Tether up to borderline addictive is how the melodies filter through... Fascination with this recording continues to grow with each return visit." – Bird is the Worm "At its best this quartet pushes the listener down several paths at once, creating a thrilling tension among the players even though they're actually tightly in sync." – Chicago Reader

Jazzliiton kiertueella Raoul Björkenheim Triad,Wanha Kasino, savonlinna10.12. At 20:00
Ennakkoluulottomaan nykymusiikkiin erikoistunut tamperelaislevymerkki Eclipse Music julkaisi Triad-trion esikoislevyn Beyond kesällä 2017. Albumilla räyhäkitaristi Björkenheimin johtama kolmikko tutkii maailmanjärjestyksemme kaaosta doom-vivahtein pöristen. Keikalla muusikoiden energia on vertaansa vailla. Must hear -listalle kuuluu ainakin vinksahtanut tulkinta Somewhere Over the Rainbow -kappaleesta, joka kuulunee settiin Jazzliiton kiertueellakin.
Syksyllä Jazz Finland -kiertueilla nähdään Raoul Björkenheim Triadin lisäksi Flame Jazz Messengers ja Kalevi Louhivuori Quintet syyskuussa ja Timo Lassy Band marraskuussa. Suomen Jazzliitto tuottaa Louhivuoren ja Björkenheimin kiertueet sekä tukee Flame Jazz Messengersin ja Timo Lassy Bandin kiertueita. Kiertuetoiminta on tärkeä osa 50-vuotisen Jazzliiton missiota saada elävä jazz soimaan kaikissa muodoissaan ympäri maata.
