We think jazz is too rarely performed at café’s nowadays. Our purpose is to fix this
at Kahvila Sävy, which has just the ambience we’re looking for. The sets by the inter-
national trio of bass player ANTTI LÖTJÖNEN, drummer TEPPO MÄKYNEN and
the US rising star saxophonist LOGAN RICHARDSON are suitable for music fans of
all ages. The trio will also hit the studio in Helsinki to record material for the
upcoming “Loetjoenen/Maekynen” album, excerpts of which will be heard live for
the first time.

We Jazz Rising Star 2014
The Saturday jazz bruch at Siltanen offers the setting for presenting this year's WE
JAZZ RISING STAR award winners. The winning combo will receive help for the
launch of their career from We Jazz in the fileds of concept planning, PR and graphic
design. The “gemütlich” brunch also features jazz served on vinyl.

The We Jazz 2014 closing party is naturally held on the We Jazz collective’s home
turf at Kuudes linja, in the buzzing Kallio district of Helsinki. Drummer/composer OLAVI LOUHIVUORI will debut his new solo material, bending the genre of jazz every which way. Another debutant on stage is the JUKKA ESKOLA SOUL TRIO featuring the unquestionable talent of organ man MIKKO HELEVÄ and drummer TEPPO MÄKYNEN. We’re quite sure that this new combo will “burn the place down”.
