The rising Finnish-Danish ensemble JAF Trio will celebrate their fresh We Jazz album at Hakola Shop on December 2nd. The concert will be held as part of the eighth We Jazz Festival, which will spread around Helsinki from November 29th to December 5th, 2020.
The acclaimed Berlin trio is complemented by saxophonist Otis Sandsjö, known from his band Y-OTIS, and producer Petter Eldh from Koma Saxo. Speak Low II will be released in November and celebrated on November 29th at We Jazz Festival.
On Friday, multi-instrumentalist Kimmo Gröhn's compositions will be heard at a birthday concert in Sigyn Hall and Facebook Live. The versatile musician has also invited guest soloists from his long career.
The Junior All Star Big Band (JAS), led by the Finnish Big Band Association, is a big band comprised of young Finnish talented jazz musicians. JAS will celebrate its 20 year anniversary this year and the big band will go on tour in October, covering five locations in Finland and two in Estonia. The program for the tour consists of compositions by Bob Mintzer.
Blow!, which was held for the first time last year, will take place from October 28th to November 1st in the surroundings of Töölönlahti. Admission-free concerts in several different locations introduce Helsinki residents to many shades of wind instrument music.

During the four festival days of October 29th-November 1st 2020, a total of 18 bands will perform at Pakkahuone and Telakka.

Astoria Club opens a new jazz festival in Helsinki. Astoria Jazz Festival features a variety of rhythm music for three days. The entire event will be held taking into account all current COVID-19 restrictions.
