Sointi Jazz Orchestra's new album Kolibri consists of six compositions written for the band by the band's artistic director Rasmus Soini.
Written over the last four years, the compositions of Kolibri have drawn inspiration from things where the individual is easily forgotten, e.g. urbanization, technological revolution and the hectic rhythm of life. SJO's trademarks, the richly interchangeable arrangements, meandering immersive compositions and skillful improvisations create a unique big band experience.
