Jazz Finland and Koko Jazz Club invite for coffee!

Jazz community coffee on Thursday the 12th of April at 3 - 5pm at Koko Jazz Club in Helsinki! On April 16, Jazz Finland opens the application for the Finnish tour productions in the spring season 2019. Before we hit the 'go' button, we'd like to take the time to present and discuss the touring system with the musicians, producers, agents, managers and the concert organizers.

 






Get your tickets to the new Turku Jazz Festival

Welcome to the second oldest jazz happening in Finland. Turku Jazz Festival offers a nice selection of contemporary jazz. Festival’s main stage is located to Logomo near the main railway station and 20 minutes walk from the center of the city. This year the festival renews itself by returning to its original date in mid-March. 


Trumpet phenomenon Verneri Pohjola and percussion virtuoso Mika Kallio tour Finland in March 2018

 Early 2018 sees the British label Edition Records release the Finnish trumpeter Verneri Pohjola’s and drummer Mika Kallio’s duo album Animal Image. The mystical and atmospheric compositions are based on their improvised soundtrack on director Perttu Saksa’s 2017 experimental film of the same name. In March the duo tours Finland extensively, partly on a double bill with a French trio Les Voyageurs de l’Espace.
