Finnish jazz legends starring Tampere Hall's autumn concerts

Tampere Hall's autums begins with traditional Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra concert at Sorsapuisto on August 10th. At the concert, lead by the Chief Conductor Santtu-Matias Rouvali, the actors of TTT-Theatre perform interpretations of musical pieces such as West Side Story by Leonard Bernstein. This autumn we also hear four Finnish jazz legends, Paula Koivuniemi with roots arrangements and rock dad’s children interpretating their father’s hits.


Jazzahead! brings Finnish jazz to European limelight

Once in a year Bremen turns into an international meeting point for the international jazz scene. This year’s Jazzahead! Trade Fair is held from 19th to 22nd of April. Music Finland and Jazz Finland coordinate the Finnish stand and events arranged at the festival. Stay tuned of the Finnjazz action on Jazz Finland website!


Traditional Jazz-Espa concert series undergoes facelift just before 20th anniversary

The annual Jazz-Espa concert series and its sister events offer once again more than 20 top-notch jazz concerts this upcoming summer. This year, the beloved free shows of the Espa outdoor stage will be organised on 30 July – 4 August, with two concerts taking place every afternoon and one lunch concert at noon. This year will also see the novel Jazz-Espa opening and closing club nights, titled Summer Bay Jazz (Suvilahti Jazz) take over the restaurant ship Merikerho on 29 July and 5 August, respectively.  


Hietsu is Happening! Nro 11: 1955

Hietsu is Happening! enters into world’s new political settings by recalling cold war state at its worst. Because none of the performers was born in the night’s theme year 1955 it is necessary to use artistic licence.

Timo Lassy releases his new album "Moves" on 27 of April

New double album features guests such as Ricky-Tick Big Band Brass, Eero Koivistoinen, Palecafe and Joyce Elaine Yuille, vocalist of the second single released last Friday. The grandiose album presents Lassy’s music widely and shows him being in top condition with his composing. Timo Lassy Band has announced two album release concerts at G Livelab on 1st and 2nd of June.
