Pianist-composer Aurora Hentunen has quickly risen to become a respected jazz artist with her stylish Nordic music. The quintet-expanded ensemble is releasing its third album this year, with tones narrating the uncertain global situation of recent years but also expressing hope.

Originally from Lappeenranta, Aurora Hentunen now operates in the jazz scene in Amsterdam in addition to her activities in her home country. As a pianist-composer and bandleader, she has released two albums, "Spring" (2018) and "Frost" (2019). These well-received releases have been praised for their rich and nuanced music, as well as the balanced relationship between compositional complexity and improvisation.

The upcoming album, "Little Further," reflects on the events of recent years and the resulting state of mind: forced collective pauses and uncertainty about the future. However, the music of the album gently guides to continue one's own journey and trust in tomorrow.
