Kenny Garrett and Verneri Pohjola as the stars of Turku Jazz Festival 2024

The first performers of the March Turku Jazz Festival have been announced. The jazz weekend will take place at Logomo's Teatro Hall from March 8 to 9, 2024. On Friday evening, the stage will come alive with the world-class saxophonist Kenny Garrett and his high-energy band, Sounds From The Ancestors. On Saturday, the spotlight will shine on the masterful trumpeter Verneri Pohjola and his highly anticipated Monkey Mind. The full festival program and the artist of the year will be revealed on December 15.





Elma.live – a digital toolkit for sustainable development in the live music industry – is now available in English

Since its launch in the autumn of 2022, the content of the Elma.live platform is expanding even further. Majority of the content is now available also in English, and new lessons, action proposals, and further reading has been added to Elma’s learning materials in Finnish. New partners for Elma are the Finnish ticketing agency Tiketti and the sustainability agency Positive Impact.


Tampere Jazz Happening Programme published

Tampere is preparing for an unforgettable All Saints weekend, when the annual Tampere Jazz Happening takes place 2–5 November 2023. Once again, the festival offers a wide variety of styles and shades of jazz on both sides of the Tullikamari square.



Osku Rajala invited as an honorary member of Suomen PerinneJazz ry

Suomen PerinneJazz ry invited Osmo "Osku" Rajala, the founder and editor-in-chief of Jazzrytmit magazine, as an honorary member of the association during its 10th-anniversary meeting in May of last year. Other honorary members of the association include Erik Lindström, Ossi Runne, Helena Siltala, Pentti Lasanen, and Seppo Hovi.


Jazz Finland Residency welcomes Joris Roelofs in the autumn of 2023

Finnish Jazz Federation, Sibelius Academy Jazz Music Department at Uniarts Helsinki, UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra and the Finnish Musicians’ Union's Jazz Finland Residency program welcomes Joris Roelofs in the autumn of 2023.  His two-part residency begins with concerts at the Porvoo Jazz Festival on September 30th and Hietsu is Happening on October 1st.
