Porvoo Jazz Festival brings cross-artistic concepts to jazz enthusiasts who are eager to explore something new every year. This year the festival surprises its audience again, as the Saturday night concludes with Jazz Raves.
Hietsu is Happening, organized by Antti Lötjönen, Mikko Innanen, and Petri Kumela since 2016, brings ambitious and high-quality music to the audience in an approachable and relaxed manner.
The world-renowned vocal ensemble New York Voices, known for their unique interpretations and virtuoso singing, will perform in Helsinki in December. Their concert will take place at St. John's Church on Sunday, December 17th.
Sointi Jazz Orchestra's 10th-anniversary year culminates in a celebratory concert at Korjaamo in Helsinki on November 1st. Additionally, the orchestra will perform with Anders Jormin and Anni Elif at G Livelab in Tampere on September 20th and in Helsinki on September 21st. They will also have a concert collaboration with saxophonist Joakim Berghäll at Lappeenranta's Nuijamies on November 8th.
The Vapaat äänet tour in late September will offer a wild mix of new jazz and improvisation as the American-Finnish trio Sir Garrison and the French trio The Litany of The Peaks hit the road. Both trios will perform at five concerts from September 18th to 22nd in Helsinki, Loviisa, Joensuu, Äänekoski, and Savonlinna. In addition, Sir Garrison will be heard in Turku on September 11th and in Loimaa on September 26th. This marks the 35th tour produced jointly by Vapaat äänet and the Finnish Jazz Federation since 1996.
Jazz City Turku kicks off its autumn season at Bar Ö on Friday, September 8th, with the cool Freezer album release concert. During the autumn, there will be the Finnish Big Band Days, jazz performances at a new wine event, and, of course, the highly popular Flame Jazz Cruise.
The finalists of the Helsinki International Big Band Composing Contest have been selected.

Captivating audiences with her debut album A Vision of a Garden, singer and composer Riikka Keränen and her quartet embarks on a tour across Finland from September 6th to 16th. Initiating the Jazz Federation’s autumn season, this tour spans nine performances, reaching from Oulu to Espoo.
