Jazz Pianist Brad Mehldau to Finland in February 2016

Espoo-based April Jazz and Turku-based Flame Jazz bring the distinguished American jazz pianist Brad Mehldau to Finland in February 2016. A five-time Grammy-nominee, Mehldau released his latest album – a compilation of solo pieces recorded live in Europe over a ten-year period – only in last October. He will be seen on stage at Turku’s Sigyn hall on Friday 12 February and at Espoo’s Sello Hall on the following day.






Sointi Jazz Orchestra on the air and stage this December

Sointi Jazz Orchestra's new big band take on the traditional Christmas play Star Boys' Singing Procession will be touring the Helsinki metropolitan area for the second time this Christmas. The group has also collaborated with saxophonist Jukka Perko on a new version of the traditional hymn Hoosianna. The song can be caught on the Jouluradio starting from the first Advent.





Nordic bands from Tampere to Umeå next year

Five talented jazz bands were presented in the annual Young Nordic Jazz Comets showcase on the 29th of October in Tampere, Finland, as the showcase officially opened the 34th Tampere Jazz Happening festival. Next year the YNJC travels to Northern Sweden, to Umeå Jazz Festival.
