Award-winning producer Charles Gil’s Finno-French concert concept Free Voices, Free Sounds celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2016. The big year is kicked off with an extensive double-header tour that sees Théo Ceccaldi Trio, led by the eponymous violinist, and Finnish trio Pepa Päivinen & Good Romans perform around Finland.

Funky Awards picked out last year's best jazz and pop artists

Charles Gil of Free Voices Free Sounds to be received into French National Order of Merit
Helsinki-based concert producer Charles Gil will be made Chevalier of the French National Order of Merit for his significant contributions to Finno-French jazz culture and furtherance of a lively cultural exchange between the two countries.

Funky Awards, an annual gala for Finnish jazz, funk and related genres, will be here for the 16th time already. In addition to the award ceremony, we will be in for live music from some of Finland’s leading reggae, hip hop and Afro-funk names.
UMO publishes programme for spring season
