Young Jazz Comet Katu Kaiku releases their debut and hits the road on a tour

The Helsinki-based trio Katu Kaiku his one of the young newly-established groups in the Finnish jazz scene. The Finnish finalist in last year’s Young Nordic Jazz Comets competition, the group is now about to bring out their debut recording, TOKYO/KUOPIO, and hit the road on an album-launch tour. They will play altogether nine gigs around the country between 18 and 28 March.

Hammond guru Kalle Salonen to bring out his sophomore this February

Drawing from funk, jazz and rhythm and blues, the astonishing Kalle Salonen issues a new album this February. Like its predecessor, the sophomore, entitled Barracuda Man, comes out on the Helsinki-based label, Texicalli Records and will be available on vinyl, CD and in a digital format on 19 February.



Jazz City Turku to create jobs and liven up local cultural life

Turku has seen the formation of a unique coalition, Jazz City Turku. Bringing together three local cultural players, the project aims at fostering regular, year-round concert activities to create jobs to artists and enliven local cultural and economic life.
