Eskola's crew is composed of organist Mikko Helevä and drummer Teppo Mäkynen, but in addition the recording features a host of notable guests. The 10-inch vinyl EP is co-released by new Helsinki-based label, Grotto Editions, and We Jazz. The group opens the new We Jazz concert series on island Lonna on Sunday 12 June.
Turku Jazz Festival has released the programme for the upcoming festival. The festival gathers a number of topical, prominent Finnish jazz acts to the old capital of Finland. The second oldest jazz festival is now organised for the first time as a part of the project Jazz City Turku, in cooperation with Flame Jazz and Turku Jazz Orchestra.
Lonna, one of the coastal islands of Helsinki, will play host to a new concert series, organised by We Jazz and featuring some of the best Finnish jazz acts and the We Jazz DJ collective. Each edition will be opened by a live broadcast of the popular Jazz kiinnostaa radio programme, running on Radio Helsinki. The concert series will kick off on 12 June with Jukka Eskola Soul Trio giving an EP launching show.

Operating in conjuction with the Music Archive JAPA, Erik Lindström Fond has awarded a grant of 2,000 euros to vocalist Josefiina Vannesluoma. The grant is given each year to support a young Finnish musician's studies in the United States. Vannesluoma received the grant on 24 May at the May edition of the jaZZanti concert series.

The monthly Summer Jazz Club concert series, taking place at Jyväskylä’s jazziest bar Poppari, kicks off on Tuesday 24 May.
