Renowned both in Finland and on the international stage, KYN has carved out a unique identity through a rich, genre-defying repertoire. At the heart of its artistic mission is a commitment to the future of choral music, frequently commissioning original works and bespoke arrangements. The choir is celebrated for its rhythmic precision, profound expressive power, and a seamless, cohesive sound.
This anniversary program invites listeners into the vibrant spectrum of treble choral music. Featuring KYN's own commissioned masterpieces, the concert weaves together the rhythmic vitality of jazz, the evocative heritage of folk music, and the innovative textures of contemporary Finnish composition.
The program features work from the distinguished composers including Anders Edenroth, Anna-Mari Kähärä, Jukka Linkola, Kirmo Lintinen and Riikka Talvitie. KYN is honored to perform alongside the esteemed pianist, composer, and conductor Kirmo Lintinen, with whom KYN has shared a journey spanning decades. The concert is conducted by Councellor of Music Kaija Viitasalo.
