We Jazz Festival in Helsinki, November 20–29 – first performers announced
The twelth We Jazz festival is organized in Helsinki November 20–29. The first performers have been announced, including guitarist legend Bill Frisell who makes his first performance at the festival, spoken word vocalist aja monet and the mystical London ensemble Ill Considered. Séverine Morfin’s Mad Maple (FR) and Selma Savolainen & Eero Tikkanen on a Co-Production Tour in September
The joint production tour of the Finnish Jazz Federation and the Vapaat äänet agency brings together violist Séverine Morfin’s ensemble Mad Maple and the duo of vocalist Selma Savolainen and bassist Eero Tikkanen. Some of the tour concerts are part of the Better Live project, which focuses on developing more ecologically and socially sustainable touring in Europe.

The year 2026 marks the centennial of jazz’s symbolic arrival in Finland aboard the ship Andania. It will be a historic jubilee for Finnish jazz: the Jazz in Finland 100 Anniversary Year. The arrival of jazz had a significant impact on the development of Finnish popular music and culture.

Turku Sea Jazz has begun
Celebrating its fifth edition, Turku Sea Jazz offers a diverse and atmospheric jazz festival by the sea at the turn of July and August. The festival takes place at Forum Marinum Maritime Centre, on the island of Seili, and at the Cathedral Park Terrace from 30 July to 2 August 2025. The weekend’s main concerts are held in the charming Boat Shelter at Forum Marinum, while museum musicians perform daily from the morning in different areas of the Maritime Museum.
