New York City organist Brian Charette collaborates with guitarist/composer Mathias Sandberg and drummer Teppo Mäkynen for a 7 date Finland tour in April 2025.
Blending jazz, Middle Eastern music, and global folk traditions, Ilkka Arola Sound Tagine will perform across Finland on the Jazz Federation Tour this April. The band will present their newly released fourth album, Adventures in the Now, bringing energetic and vividly colorful music to audiences. The tour kicks off on April 8th in Lahti, followed by stops in Jyväskylä, Savonlinna, Raahe, and Espoo.
New additions to the programme and the concert schedule will be released throughout Spring.
The concerts will be held on Wednesday at the record store's new premises at Päijänteentie. The first performers in the series include Jonah Parzen-Johnson, Heli Hartikainen, Teppo Mäkynen, Pauli Lyytinen and Jonathan Bäckström & Marcus Wärnheim. The concerts have free entry, with a beta test voluntary ticket which entitles its buyer to a discount to purchases at the record store.
World-renowned bassist Marcus Miller gives concerts in Finland this autumn, in Helsinki 16 October and in Tampere 17 October.
In March 2025, the iconic trio formed by the pianist Andy Emler with Claude Tchamitchian on double bass and Eric Echampard on drums celebrates its jubilee with a Spring musical journey of 13 concerts in Finland, Estonia and Latvia.
Jazz Street will be built on Pori’s Eteläranta for next summer’s Pori Jazz. Jazz Street is a place to listen to music, chat and enjoy the services of restaurants and stalls. Jazz Street will be open during the festival week from Wednesday 16 July to Saturday 19 July.
The We Jazz recording artist from Brooklyn performs at Digelius Music's new venue in Helsinki 19 March, and later also in Turku, Tampere and Pori.
Jazz Emma of the year was awarded to saxophonist Pauli Lyytinen's Lehto / Korpi album.
