Mathias Sandberg Trio, one the hardest touring bands in Finland, embarks on a massive 50 date tour through Finland, Denmark, Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of Finnish jazz.
Called "one of Finland's best kept secrets", the highly acclaimed jazz guitarist and composer Mathias Sandberg is one of the hardest working musicians in the country. He studied at Manhattan School of Music in New York and Berklee College of Music in Boston and has worked with such artists as Brian Charette, Georg Riedel, Nick Mancini, Peter Asplund, Teppo Mäkynen and Manuel Dunkel.
Sandberg plays a hundred concerts a year and has toured both Europe and the United States. His trio albums have received huge critical reviews and airplay on jazz radio stations around the world. The trio tour will showcase Sandberg's unique blend of hard swingin', groovy and soulful jazz with strong melodic writing, rhythmically playful improvisation and a delightful, almost telepathic interplay between the three.
