Eclipse Jazz Club autum programme out

The season of Eclipse Jazz Club  emphasizes guitar music with six concert this autumn. The club also presents international guests and performers of the sharpest peak of Finnish jazz music. Eclipse club works for the good of new music and even four concert out of six features material from brand new albums.



Till Brönner and Valtteri Pöyhönen's all star ensemble open the Savoy's autumn season

The autumn season of the Savoy Theatre starts with a unique music happening: SavoyJAZZ September 2018 will bring together top Finnish and international stars of jazz. On Saturday 15 September, performs Valtteri Laurell Pöyhönen Nonet and German trumpet virtuoso Till Brönner. On Sunday 16 September, the stage is taken over by American saxophonist and composer Seamus Blake. 




Jazz vocalist Sanna Ruohoniemi releases a new album

Sanna Ruohoniemi, Finnish jazz vocalist and composer, currently based in Stockholm, is one of the most interesting young generation musicians. Her debut album  "Tales of a stranger" (Eclipse Music 2016) was widely acclaimed all over Skandinavian. 


Doors open to Europe

For the remainder of the year, Jazz Finland International follows the bands and delegates aiming to the international markets. The article series continues with Aurora Hentunen, who comments their upcoming tour in the Netherlands. 



Elojazz festival starts in Oulu

The 30th Elojazz presents over 150 musicians during the five-day festival this week. Grande ensembles such as UMO, Timo Lassy Band & Ricky-Tick Big Band Brass, Oulu All Star Big Band and Oulu Youth Jazz Orchestra take over the stage this weekend.


Jukka Iisakkila’s The Breed opens Validi Karkia’s autumn season

Validi Karkia releases the versatile and international 17-night concert programme of this autumn. The season opens on 1 August with internationally distinguished conductor Jukka Iisakkila, this time in electric guitar. The Breed explores the composition material of Pekka Pohjola. In addition to Iisakkila, the ensemble consists of Aki Lääkkölä, Jaan Wessman, Niko Ronimus and Ville Ojanen.
